5th International Biscuit Festival

The International Biscuit Festival will be held 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, May 17, in downtown Knoxville near Krutch Park. A biscuit bazaar will be held featuring vendors selling their wares. There will also be a biscuit boulevard where guests can sample biscuits at a cost of five biscuits for $10. Boulevard tickets go on sale at 8:30 a.m.
The Biscuit Big Top Tent is the place to be for those who enjoy cooking demonstrations and cooking competitions. Events will be held there from noon-4:30 p.m. Sponsored by Southern Biscuit Flour, the demonstrators include Lisa Donovan, pastry chef for Husk, Nashville, cookbook authors Belinda Ellis and Regina Charboneau, and last year’s grand prize winner, Christopher Lowe, general manager of the Martha Washington Inn. On Sunday, May 18, Chef Tyler Florence will take the stage of the Tennessee Theatre for “An Evening with Tyler Florence.” Doors open at 7 p.m. with the event beginning at 8 p.m. A Great Food Truck Extravaganza will be held on Gay Street before the show.
